Cannot edit crontab - permission denied

If at any time, you get on this issue, then the suid bit is not set on the crontab executable.

Easy fix : chmod 4755 /usr/bin/crontab

Cheers. :)

  1. I just spent an hour looking for a fix for this and went to about 50 sites with really long complicated explinations that involved running about 20 commands before coming to this.

Which in short solved everything. Thanks.

  2. glad to help :) if you need anything else, or a tutorial for something, let me know ;)

  3. I have to say it took me about an hour to come to this simple fix.

  4. Please tell, exactly where do I type in this chmod command? I can’t find anywhere in my cPanel where I can type this. Please help! Thank you!
